The case for JOY in a world redesigned by AI

AI is the most disruptive technology of our time. It raises profound questions about original thought, identity, work, the environment, and what it means to live a purposeful life.

While much of the conversation focuses on the risks and opportunities of AI, young people are telling a more nuanced story. Many are finding that AI is changing how they explore interests and develop a sense of purpose.

As a Foundation committed to youth agency, joy, and discovery, we want to understand how this technology is influencing the things that excite, motivate, and inspire young people - and what this means for their futures.

So we asked Alex Jolly, Partnerships Director at 100% Human at Work to help us start the conversation. She has shared her thoughts with us in a guest blog.

In it, she emphasises the importance of placing young people at the heart of conversations about AI, “not consulted, not placed on a panel, but actually leading: setting the terms, deciding what matters…”
