Now in its 14th year, The Good Childhood Report has shown a significant decline in children’s happiness since surveying began in 2009.

Policy and Public Affairs Manager at The Children's Society, Kate Roberts Fox, joined our recent Board session to take us through the findings from The Good Childhood Report 2025.

It was great to see young people’s voices and experiences at the centre of the 2025 report through quantitative surveys as well as collaborative consultations with Young Advisors. Something that really resonated with us and gave us hope was their suggested return of the ‘village to raise a child’ mentality.

As a new foundation, we’re energised by the part we can play in this, funding programmes and partnering with others who share our belief that that all young people deserve to have fun and experience joy.
